Eminem's surprise Kamikaze album is still making waves online for the wrong reasons. Aside from dissing a few other artists in the industry, Eminem took it a bit too far when he called Tyler, The Creator a "fa**ot." Bon Iver's Justin Vernon who composed the song already released a statement saying he's "not a fan of the message," detailing how he "asked them to change the track, wouldn’t do it."
Imagine Dragons‘ lead singer Dan Reynolds has come forward with a few words, detailing how the use of any homophobic slur is never okay no matter who you are. "It’s never ok to say a word that is filled with hate. I don’t care what year you were born in or what meaning it has to you," he wrote on Twiter. "If it contributes to hate and bigotry then it is hateful. period. there is never an ok time to say the word fa**ot I don’t care who you are."
A few fans called Eminem's diss to Tyler harmless. "Do you guys seriously think Tyler gives a fuck if someone calls him a fa**ot? He used the word over 200 times in Goblin. I doubt Tyler would take offense to this," one user tweeted, but according to Dan this still isn't an excuse.
"It’s disgusting to be told this is being “overly sensitive” or “millennial”. LGBTQ kids are TAKING THEIR LIVES after being bullied with homophobic slurs. it’s not “sensitive” to take a stand against a word that has been used to spread hate for years," he added.
