Juelz Santana better have a receipt for whatever he was wearing to the MTV VMAs because he just got denied permission to attend the event by the court due to his pending criminal case.
According to documents, obtained by The Blast, the hip-hop star recently requested permission to attend the award show at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall.
Santana is currently out of jail on a $500,000 bond which requires him to wear an ankle-monitor and adhere to strict travel restrictions. He lives in New Jersey at his mother’s house, and must get approval for any out of state trips … which would include the VMAs.
The court has been lenient with Santana, letting him participate in taping “Love & Hip-Hop: New York” and for his touring schedule. However, the judge must not be an MTV fan, and denied his request to attend the show.
Earlier this year, Santana was indicted on two Federal firearm charges related to a firearm that was found in his luggage at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Watching the show from his mom’s house, Santana won’t get to see Aerosmith in person, but at least he won’t have to deal with all the traffic.
