Manny Pacquiao knocks out Argentine boxer, Lucas Matthysse in the 7th round

Last night, Manny Pacquiao defeated WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse in his first knockout win since 2009.  

It was a dominant, devastating display as “smoking hot” Pacquiao registered the 60th win of his 23-year career knocking down the big-puncher from Argentina as early as the third round with a stunning left uppercut that thudded around the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

The 35-year-old Argentine, who came in with a reputation as a big puncher, had no answer to Pacquiao’s blistering speed and he dropped again in the fifth. When a right-left combination thudded home to send Matthysse crashing down for a third time in the seventh round referee Kenny Bayless stepped in to save him from further punishment.  

“It was a long time ago since I’ve done that. I came out smoking hot. I’m surprised I knocked him down so early in the third, fifth and seventh. We did a good job in training. We were not pushing hard we controlled our pace and ourselves. I’m no longer young, so thanks to my trainer and all my team members” said Pacquiao.

A shell-shocked Matthysse, who had come in with a record of 36 knockouts in 39 wins with just four defeats, conceded he had no answer to Pacquiao’s speed, movement and power as the “old Manny” returned with a vengeance.  “It’s most difficult to be fighting Manny Pacquiao. He’s a great fighter. I lost to a great legend” he said.

The concert was suddenly interrupted due to a pyrotechnic malfunction.

The Glasglow Green concert was on fire last night. Literally. During Bruno Mars' performance, the stage was set ablaze. On July 10, he and his lineup were forced to leave the stage after playing "Perm." Flames caught onto the stage's lighting rig. It took 8 minutes to contain and extinguish the relatively small fire. The lights and music were completely shut down during this time. His fans were asked for patience, through text projected onto two screens on either side of the stage:"This is a Safety Announcement. It is necessary to stop the show temporarily. Further information to follow."

The "24K Gold" singer came back onstage quickly after the incident, singing an improvised hook,"We burned the stage down in Glasglow." 

DF Concerts stated, "During the Bruno Mars show, there was an incident involving one of the stage lights meaning the show was stopped temporarily."They continued in gratitude,“Thanks to the quick thinking of our stage team who assessed the situation, this incident was quickly responded to, allowing the show to continue safely."

Seems like Bruno Mars' career found another parallel with Michael Jackson's. The fire did not happen during the filming of a commercial and the star's hair is intact, but the fact that "Perm" was playing at the time makes for an inadvertent homage to the king of pop.

Juice WRLD reflected on Drake's official studio debut Thank Me Later, admitting that he "related to most of the shit he was talking about." You may recall the initial response to Drizzy's seminal album, which was far from unanimous praise; in general, the project was liked by many, yet few proclaimed to love it. Perhaps it was merely a grower. "When it first came out I was still singing it like I related to it, but now that I actually relate to some of the shit, it's like damn bro, this n***a was really speaking from his--" 

At that moment, Ski Mask slides in with the interruption, picking up from Juice WRLD's train of thought. "Drake has a lot to do with the culture," he explains, as Juice WRLD echoes the sentiment. "Hell yeah, bro!" says Juice, "he a gatekeeper bro. The rap game an abyss, and Drake a gatekeeper, he one of em." 

On that note, Juice takes a minute to explain the concept of The Abyss, calling it somewhere "everybody is trapped in. Here's the perfect example of some abyss shit. A person goes to a D1 college, they spend all this money to get a degree, they don't even do the shit they got the degree for, and they work in an office every day until they die. He or she is in the abyss."

Sacha Baron Cohen rubs many people the wrong way. The audience usually enjoys the comedian's antics, but the people that are caught in his pranks are less than pleased. On July 4th, Cohen took to Twitter to post some old footage of Donald Trump insulting him. The short clip seemed to be tied around a new project, but details were scarce. Then, only a few days later, it was revealed that Cohen is working on a new Showtime series entitled Who is America? 

It appears as if Cohen will use his sneaky, and often times hilarious, tactics to gain interviews from politicians for the show. Sarah Palin, who served as the Alaskan governor until 2009, recently took to Facebook to vent about being tricked into an interview by Cohen. "Yup - we were duped. Ya’ got me, Sacha. Feel better now," she begins in her lengthy post. "I join a long list of American public personalities who have fallen victim to the evil, exploitive, sick 'humor' of the British 'comedian' Sacha Baron Cohen, enabled and sponsored by CBS/Showtime." She continued on to explain that Cohen, or one of his actors, disguised themselves as a disabled vet to gain the interview.

"For my interview, my daughter and I were asked to travel across the country where Cohen (I presume) had heavily disguised himself as a disabled US Veteran, fake wheelchair and all," she vented. "Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long "interview" full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm - but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin. The disrespect of our US military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse."

Ex-NFL CB Brandon Browner Charged With Attempted Murder

Browner charged with trying to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Former NFL cornerback Brandon Browner has reportedly been charged with attempted murder, after breaking into his ex-girlfriend's Southern California home, dragging her and then trying to smother her in a carpet. According to ESPN, Browner was arrested Sunday east of Los Angeles and charged with first-degree residential robbery, kidnapping, violation of a restraining order and other counts, in addition to attempted murder. 

According to reports, officers responded to a call at 10:07 a.m. on Sunday morning related to a man who broke into a home through a locked window. Browner, 33, was identified as the intruder and allegedly physically forced his ex-girlfriend back into the home when she attempted to escape. After allegedly threatening to kill the victim inside her residence, Browner reportedly stole a $20,000 Rolex and fled the scene before police arrived, but was ultimately detained later that afternoon.

NBC Los Angeles reports that Browner had a previous relationship with the victim and had previously been arrested for domestic violence and was restrained from the victim, according to police. The former Super Bowl champion has also been arrested for child endangerment as well as possession of cocaine in the past two years.

Browner is best known for his three seasons as a member of Seattle's Legion of Boom. He won a Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots in 2014 against his former team, and spent the following year with the Saints. He re-signed with the Seahawks in April 2016, but has not played in the NFL since the 2015 season.

Cissy Houston makes an official statement regarding the sexual assault claims against Dee Dee Warwick.

Last week, an upcoming Whitney Houston documentary surprised the family by revealing information about incidents of sexual assault against Whitney and her brother as children. Many were shocked to learn about the allegations, especially considering they were against Dee Dee Warwick, Cissy Houston's niece. Cissy, Whitney's mother has issued an official statement about the allegations being made and she is in absolute "shock and horror" regarding the information being made available.

Speaking directly with People, Cissy and Dionne Warwick revealed their surprise at the new details. They said the following:

To begin we want to state clearly that the horror of what victims of sexual abuse experience is unimaginable. We make no attempt to minimize the pain, the trauma and perhaps lifelong damage to the psyche of abuse victims. We understand and acknowledge that there are no rules governing a person’s reaction to trauma and every person reacts differently. By this statement we do not intend to defend, condone or excuse the crime of molestation.

We cannot, however, overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick (Dionne’s sister) molested two of my three children.

Whitney was a public person but the family reportedly had no idea that any sexual assault claims would be included in the film, despite it being marketed as a Houston family approved project.

When Lil Baby called dibs on the nascent Wheezy beat that became "Yes Indeed," he was merely hoping to complete his album with a little a dash of inexplicable "je sais.." Baby did his mental arithmetic, and Wheezy is orderly steps, and before they knew it, they had a hit record in the books, something which has eluded the talented rapper so far in his career.

Wheezy has production credits has worked with obscure artists in Atlanta, as well as more decorated "stars" such as Young Thug and 21 Savage. The producer sat down with Genius to recount the moment he realized Drake was perfect for "Yes Indeed," as well as a verbal account of his beat-making process. 

Wheezy started his deconstruction of "Yes Indeed" by shedding light on his relationship with Drizzy. Apparently the ATL producer was supposed to link up with Drake in Wyoming, all in the spirit of assisting Kanye West; We all know how that played out. Wheezy says he and Drake him worked diligently in each other's presence without as much as a formal introduction by their host.

Afterwards Drake felt silly for not reaching out:  "Bro I didn’t even fucking know that was you last night, bro. I feel so dumb, bro" he said to Wheezy via correspondence. Within a day of flying back to LA and their connection restored, Drizzy booked a one-on-one session with Wheezy, culminating in the creation of "Yes Indeed."

Wheezy began by pulling out his favorite "Purity" synth pad off FL Studio. Once "the sound" was secured, Wheezy added the drum pattern and the integrated flute sample.

XXXTentacion Murder: Police Arrest Alleged Gunman

Police have reportedly arrested the gunman in XXXTentacion's murder.

With details continuing to break out about the murder of XXXTentacion last month, police are still looking for the people responsible for shooting one of the most promising rappers of the new generation. When he passed away, the collective hearts of the hip-hop community broke, creating a somber mood for the remainder of the week. Things were intensified when another talented rapper, Jimmy Wopo, was gunned down on the same day. With only one arrest made so far in relation to X's killing, TMZ has reported that the alleged gunman has been apprehended on first-degree murder charges this week.

22-year-old Michael Boatwright was arrested on a drug charge last week and was hit with a second warrant for his arrest yesterday for the murder. The report notes that detectives are naming Boatwright as the gunman in XXX's shooting and they are still looking for a second shooter. Much like several of the other people of interest in this case, Boatwright has a lengthy criminal history with multiple drug charges and a battery incident.

We previously let you know that Dedrick D. Williams, one of the men allegedly involved in XXXTentacion's murder, had been arrested and this is the second arrest made by the police in relation to the tragic event. Robert Allen has also been named as a person of interest but he has not yet been detained. As details become clear, we will update you.

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has been accused of brutally beating his girlfriend Delicia, and her friend, Mia, has taken to instagram today to reveal a graphic photo that was allegedly taken from a hospital bed this morning. Additionally, Mia accused the Bills' star of beating his dog and using drugs, among other claims.

Beyonce wants her Coachella performance to live on.

If you still want more from Beyonce's Coachella performance then you're in luck since Bey and fashion house Balmain are coming through with a collection. This Friday the 13th, a three-piece capsule will launch at Balmain's flagship store in Paris that will have the pink and yellow sweatshirts she wore on stage (see cover photo) as well as a black graphic t-shirt of the same design. 

The offering will be available online on Saturday if Paris is just too out of the way to cop the looks. Proceeds from the sales will go to the United Negro College Fund. Balmain's creative director Olivier Roustein talked with Vogue on how important working with Bey is for him. 

"I'm black and my parents are white. I grew up in France without having a real identification of being black and being an adult. I couldn't see myself in the future, in a way, because there were not so many people in the '80s or early '90s that could show me a direction. For me, working with Beyoncé, it's more than only music," he said.

If you thought the beef between Kevin Hart and fellow comedian Mike Epps ended last year, you're so wrong.

The beef was ignited after Mike Epps shared an Instagram post revealing he was working on a new project with Eddie Murphy, to which a fan responded that Eddie Murphy is funnier than Kevin Hart, and Epps replied saying everybody is funnier than Kevin Hart.

As expected, this angered Kevin and he fired back accusing Epps of being a "sad individual" who is envious of his success. He also made sure to add that he's selling way more tickets than those who they claim are funnier than him.

It was 100 years ago on April 1 1918 that the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service merged to create the RAF - the world's first independent air service.

Following the service at Westminster Abbey, the Queen will present a new Queen's Colour to the RAF along with her son Prince Charles in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, before she makes a brief speech.
